William Gratten Cole, 23, pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Court documents state Mr Cole is accused of “unlawfully and indecently” assaulting a woman in Tasmania, sometime between January 1 and December 31 in 2014.
The matter is set for hearing in the magistrates court on September 18.
