Her parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle have all owned them and now she is joining the family trade by buying her own.
Her new purchase was the former Dunkies hotel in Westbury, which she bought off her uncle.
“I wanted to do it for my future and my daughter’s futures,” Ms Hodgetts said.
The hotel has had a spate of changes since she took over in early June, including a name change.
“There were 25 pubs in the area the last time it was called The Berriedale Hotel, now there’s just the one,” Ms Hodgetts said.
“It was heritage listed in 1842.”
The Berriedale Hotel will be open seven days a week, instead of five days, with a children’s corner and new menu.
“I want to get involved with the community and hold functions. It’s a family-orientated pub.”
