Dubbed Gonski 2.0, the federal government said its education plan would see Tasmanian schools better off than every other state, but second to the Northern Territory.
But Ms Plibersek, Labor’s education spokeswoman, said funding would be cut from schools.
"I'm visiting over the next few days to talk to Tasmanians about Malcolm Turnbull's $22 billion of cuts to schools,” Ms Plibersek said.
"Tasmanian schools will lose around $85 million in the next two years alone.
“About $68 million of that will be ripped from public schools.”
Ms Plibersek said Labor would restore “every single dollar of the $22 billion the Liberals have cut from schools”.
Tasmanian Senator Jonathon Duniam said the government’s new funding model was sustainable and equitable.
Ms Plibersek will visit Latrobe on Monday afternoon.
