Farmers visiting Agfest were reminded about the importance of putting themselves before livestock, machinery and crops.
Rural Bank, in partnership with the registered nurses from National Centre for Farmer Health, checked farmer’s body mass index, cholesterol, blood pressure, blood glucose levels and more.
Rural Bank Agribusiness senior manager Dean Lalor said the checks were part of a commitment to healthy regional communities.
“We look at financial wellbeing, but also physical and mental wellbeing,” Mr Lalor said.
“Lots of farmers maintain their equipment, but don’t look after themselves,” he said.
Farmers were given results to pass on to their doctor.
