Labor Leader Rebecca White said the party would announced its candidates for the upcoming state election at the conference.
Candidate pre-selection opens in May.
In selecting George Town as the venue for the conference, Ms White said it represented a good opportunity to bring 200 state delegates to the town for a busy winter weekend.
She said the party had made a conscious decision over the past two years to hold its conferences in regional towns which could benefit from hospitality support.
