On Tuesday, Premier Will Hodgman detailed who would assume Dr Goodwin’s portfolio responsibilities.
“It is clear that Dr Goodwin will be unable to fulfil her ministerial duties for some time,” he said.
“Accordingly, I have determined to distribute Dr Goodwin’s portfolios for the period in which she will be absent.”
Mr Hodgman himself will act as Arts Minister and Heritage Minister.
Energy Minister Matthew Groom will serve as acting Attorney-General and Justice Minister.
Resources Minister Guy Barnett, meanwhile, will act as Corrections Minister.
Finally, Deputy Premier Jeremy Rockliff will be responsible for Crown Land services and natural resource management.
Mr Hodgman confirmed that the changes were formalised with Governor Kate Warner on Monday afternoon.
“Our thoughts and best wishes remain with Vanessa,” he said.
Dr Goodwin has been candid on social media about her illness.
