Don’s captain coach was the most successful bowler with 4/41 from 10 overs. The Don reply started slowly and at 5/123 in the 38th over needed 109 runs from the last 12 overs.
Opening batsman Jye Clayden hit 49 and the sixth wicket partnership of Kade Pitchford and Steve Ryan added 100 runs, but their team fell eight runs short.
In A Reserve the Sprent Tigers had an eight-wicket win over Mersey Colts. The Colts were all out for 127 in their last over with Sam Greaves top scoring with 28 n/o.
Bryan Gillam claimed three wickets and Brent Bugeja and David Orders, two wickets each. Orders was 85 n/o.
The B Grade Final was close with the Port Sorell Sharks winning by two runs. They were 9/120 from their 40 overs. Matthew Johnson, Zac Perkins and Jamie Bowden passed double figures.
Ben Cole bowled well for Spreyton Gold with 3/7 from his eight overs and Danny Haywood and Shane Woolley snared two each.
Jamie Rusk and Rob Gula led the Spreyton reply with 38 and 21 runs respectively and Ty Baker was caught by Daniel Campbell three runs short. Shaun Carrol and Chris Hall were the pick of the Shark's bowlers and Perkins and Bowden chipped in with two each.
