Former Deloraine High School student Cameron Swain said he planned to use the scholarship to study psychology at Queensland's Griffith University.
“I am a little nervous about leaving home but I have worked so hard for this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started,” Mr Swain said.
“It is very exciting to have had the opportunity to grow up in a regional area and get the perspective, and now move to the city and experience its culture and way of life.
“I can’t wait to get started and work towards my goal of pursuing a career in sports psychology.”
