KordaMentha has been appointed receiver-manager and partner David Winterbottom said that he was now responsible for the ongoing running of several companies within the Doherty hotel group.
This includes the iconic Hadleys, an adjoining inner Collins Street development, the Man `O' Ross at Ross and a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria.
Doherty hotels first appeared on the state's West Coast in the 1990s when the company took over a motor inn in Queenstown.
The family business, which is run by the Doherty family, has since taken over and sold a number of accommodation ventures in Tasmania.
``The operations of Hadleys Hotel are just continuing as normal after going into receivership as a result of delays and blow-outs in the inner Collins Street development - that's the reality of the situation,'' Mr Winterbottom said.
He said that the properties would be sold some time this year.
The Examiner was yesterday unable to establish how that news affected the Doherty group's other operations in the state.
Doherty spokeswoman Kat Little would only say that the company still operated other hospitality ventures in Tasmania.
``The family does not wish to make further comment at this stage,'' she said.
The company's website is now deregistered and an office phone number was disconnected.
