Van Diemens Street Rod Club president Leigh Dennis said Australian Muscle and American car owners enjoyed swapping stories at the 27th year of USA Day.
“A lot of people talk about how they’ve built their cars, and a lot of people walk around and pick up ideas for their own cars. There’s a lot of camaraderie here,” Mr Dennis said.
“We’ve got some fantastic Mustangs, Cobras, kit cars. Quite a few late model Ford Falcons here. The Ford Performance Vehicles Club is here, they’ve got a good turn out of cars, at least 13,” Mr Dennis said.
Mr Dennis said 76 owners entered their vehicles to the judges, with prizes ranging from people’s choice to top 20 trophies.
Vicki Bellinger, of Deloraine, said she enjoyed showcasing she and her partner’s 34 Ford Tudor.
“There’s lots of polishing involved. Wayne’s (her partner) has built this from scratch,” Ms Bellinger said.
