A man who fell more than five metres from the top of the Brisbane Street Mall Christmas tree will not be charged.

The 33-year-old South Australian scaled the decoration on December 21 in front of onlookers, but fell and landed hard, according to witnesses.
He was transported from Launceston General Hospital to Royal Hobart Hospital due to the severity of his head injuries.
A Health Department spokesman confirmed he left hospital on December 29.
