A top quality open men’s race saw Hobart’s former junior national champion Ben Bradley edge out Launceston’s ageless former national marathon champion Ben Mather by 94 seconds with Wyena’s world juniors rep Alex Lack half a minute further back.
“It was one of the best fields assembled for a while,” Mather said. “Ben showed his class. He wants to compete at the world champs in Cairns in what will be his last year as an under-23.”

Longford’s Ewan Ferrier won the under-19 men and Launceston riders John Gregory, Mark Padgett, Hayley Treloar and Astrid Ketelaar claimed their masters categories.
Organisers Hobart Wheelers/Dirt Devils said it was great to see so many under-15 and under-17 riders competing.
Launceston’s Izzy Flint added the under-15 female title to her state school championship, despite riding the last kilometre with a dislocated elbow and Sam Fox completed the same double in the males.
Relbia’s Riley Cowling won the under-15 male and Launceston’s Bec Bye claimed the under-17 female.
