Ms McSweeney’s took offense to statements made by Councillor Tanya King at the November 15 meeting, about a complaint lodged against her which cost ratepayers $6500.
The code of conduct complaint related to the use of Meander School by Teen Challenge, but Cr King was cleared of any wrongdoing.
“Mayor Perkins has allowed the Meander Valley Council to become an unrepresentative body with serious governance failure by allowing the use of council minutes to prosecute an offensive personal political campaign against anyone who disagrees with them,” Ms McSweeney said.
Mayor Perkins said: “Councillors are entitled to ask questions without notice on matters of fact in relation to council activities.”
