More than 70 cars are expected to be on show, with event organiser Greg Denholm confirming there were more than 40 pre-entries and many entertainment options. The event has always been held in Launceston because of its centrality to the rest of the state. Car fanatics from Hobart to Smithton are expected to attend the event.
“Our club was just initially a Monaro Club and had lots of people in our club that had Holdens and we said ‘we should make the club grow and go to Monaro and GM Club’,” Mr Denholm said.
The event will involve the presentation of trophies for more than 30 categories
In 2018, the 50th anniversary of Monaro will be celebrated and the club will also host the national state titles, which Mr Denholm said is “massive”.
“We’ve got 500 people already saying that want to come to the next one in Tassie, which is pretty amazing really,” he said. The event runs from 10am until 2pm. Entry is $5 for adults.
