On Saturday, from midday onwards, the street will come alive for this year’s Fiesta on George.

et la mer owner Jacinta Simeoni said the event allowed George Street businesses to showcase their products in a fun environment.

“We like that it’s more down to earth. It’s a great atmosphere during the day, and then it moves into the night where you can hang out for a few drinks and settle in,” she said. 

Alchemy licensee Michael Bernhagen said two marques would be set up offering barbecues.

Cityprom marketing officer Larissa Murray said the event was similiar to that of a street party. 

Up to 22 stores and 22 hospitality outlets are participating, and a host of local performers, including Agent 99 and Electric Boogaloo.
