Kerry Alexander Bilston, 65, of Lottah in the state's North-East, appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.

He is accused of shooting Dean Pieter Manshanden in the head with a shotgun.

Mr Bilston denied the allegation through his lawyer Alan Hesley, before being remanded in custody to reappear in the Launceston Supreme Court on December 8.
