Tasmania’s most popular summer sport starts its season on Saturday, October 15, at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway. The speedway has had major improvements over the winter months to enhance the spectator experience.

Formula 500s will be the quickest cars racing on the night and have a good contingent of fast drivers who will be fighting for victory. Keep an eye on Dylan Beveridge, Ricky Weatherill, Jason Cox and James Amicosante to be leading the charge.
Modifieds have the smallest field on the night but will no doubt produce the close door-handle to door-handle racing we have come enjoy.
A good field of Tassie Sixes will be racing with several drivers busy over winter making major improvements to their machinery. Dwayne Sonners, Adrian Whickam, Jarrod Francombe and Peter Johnstone will all be driving hard for victory.
AMCAs have 17 cars entered with Mick Boyd and Ray Taylor amongst others returning to motorsport after a many-year hiatus.
These V8 cars always turn up the excitement and there are several scores to be settled from late last season.
Wingless Sprints are hosting the Australian Championship at Carrick this season and a large field of cars have nominated.
Current Tasmanian Champion and Australian championship runner-up Brad Whitchurch will definitely be the man to beat on his home track with his focus purely on the National title.
A Late Model demonstration with Callum Harper, Jason Cox and Kallan Muir all driving the big sedans will be exciting to watch. This is the first season for these cars and they are bound to create a lot of interest. Several Sprintcars and Super Sedans will have some practice runs throughout the evening.
The crowd favourite ramp racers take to the air to finish off the night’s action with their unique brand of racing. Gates open at 2pm and racing starts from 5pm.
