Stuart won the under-14 sopranos B-flat cornet and flugelhorn section in the Tasmanian Solo Championship, and the under-15 B-flat cornet player in the Victorian State Solo Competition.
English saw success through the sopranos cornet solo and the B-flat cornet solo at the Tasmanian competition and the soprano cornet player competition in Victoria.
Stuart said he had ambitions to take his performing international.
“In the future I’d like to play with some of the best brass bands in England, because my cousin used to play solo cornet with a famous brass band over there,” he said.
