But Rick Smith could not confirm it was an Australian record low among top-flight, state-affiliated club cricket.
The Saints were dismissed for just 11 on Saturday in the first innings of their NTCA clash against Mowbray.
The news of the score shocked Smith, who believed it was the lowest score in the country for at least the past 50 years.
‘‘I have not come across anything as low as that,’’ he said.
‘‘I’m talking Tasmania, but I also don’t have any memory of anything lower than that in Australia.’’
Smith said the lowest TCA score in Hobart was 16 during the pre-war period when wickets were uncovered and often underprepared.
Smith said the lowest first-grade score in ‘‘my living memory’’ was when Midlands was bowled out for 31 – 20 more than George Town – in 1979-80 against Westbury on what he described as a green top after former state bowler Peter Clough claimed 6-11.
