The Council made the decision to remove the cottages from the register at its monthly meeting today.
Council chairwoman Dr Dianne Snowden said the deterioration of the cottages was the reason behind the change.
``In this particular case, with the information and evidence before it, the Heritage Council made the difficult decision to remove the cottages from the Heritage Register,'' Dr Snowden said.
The decision was made in response to an application from one of the property's owners.
