A Fifty-six-year-old man is believed to have been electrocuted while working at the cafe on Tuesday morning.
The Scamander man had been a senior employee at the business for a year.
Manager Greg Gibson said the company would not make further comment about the man's death until the matter had been investigated further.
He said the employee was a close friend and his death had come as a shock to the small East Coast community.
Mr Gibson said the cafe would likely reopen on Friday.
WorkSafe Tasmania said it would not make any further comment on the incident until the investigation was complete.
