A FORMER Hobart teacher has rejected a proposed jail term for mocking a victim, and will return to court later this year. Nicolaas Ockert Bester, 63, has pleaded not guilty to making child exploitation material after posting the offensive remarks on Facebook in February. He was jailed in 2011 after pleading guilty to maintaining a sexual relationship with a school student under the age of 17 and possessing child exploitation material. In August, Magistrate Michael Daly indicated that if he pleaded guilty, Bester would be given an eight-month prison term, four months of which would be suspended for three years. However, defence lawyer Pip Monk said Bester would not be accepting the punishment. The case was adjourned until December 7.
