JURORS have returned majority guilty verdicts in a Launceston drive-by shooting trial. In the Supreme Court in Launceston on Friday afternoon, jurors found co-accused men Sean Gregory Richardson and Damien Wesley Marshall guilty of the aggravated assault of Robert Williams, who was uninjured. Jurors also found the two men guilty of the wounding of a 19-year-old stranger in York Street, Launceston, on July 29, 2013. The jury failed to reach a verdict on the count of aggravated assault against Paul Axton, who was also uninjured, and Justice Helen Wood relieved the jurors from further attendance. Crown prosecutor John Ransom foreshadowed that the state would abandon proceedings on that count. Justice Wood heard sentencing submissions from the Crown and adjourned the defence pleas in mitigation until Thursday at 10am. She further remanded Richardson and Marshall in custody.
