A SOUTHERN Tasmanian man who allegedly doused his partner in petrol and set her alight will remain in custody before facing court again next week. Michael John Price, 45, appeared briefly in the Magistrates Court in Hobart this morning. He has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after an alleged attack at Austins Ferry on Friday night. A 43-year-old woman injured in the alleged attack was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital that night with severe burns to her chest and face. She remains in a critical but stable condition. Price has also been charged with assault from an alleged attack on the same woman in April. Police alleged he grabbed the woman's hand and wrist, bending it backwards until it broke. Price was not required to enter pleas at this morning's appearance. He has been remanded in custody to appear in court again on June 30.
