The concept sees both schools playing their opening round Northern high school roster game for premiership points and the chance to win the trophy, which Kings Meadows had claimed in 2014.
Both schools have four football teams (junior and senior firsts and seconds) who all contested the Youngtown Oval showdown.
South Launceston president Mark Perkins said that his club was excited and pleased to continue its involvement with the Bulldog Cup concept.
"Many of our current and former players are ex-Kings Meadows or Queechy students," he said.
Northern high school sport rosters also provide opportunities for students to play competitive hockey, netball, soccer, basketball and indoor soccer on a regular basis.
