He said that the little Honda was the two-wheeled equivalent of Volkswagen's Beetle through the 1970s and 1980s.
"A lot of people had them," he said.
"I wasn't really looking around for a motorcycle, but my neighbour had one for sale for a very reasonable price.
"I ride it on historic registration now-a-days — that gives you 53 rides a year and I wouldn't use it more often than that anyway.
"I ride it to work sometimes and had a lovely ride down to the Bicheno show-and-shine one year. I've taken it to Launceston and Hobart a few times — a few little trips like that.
"I love how reliable it is — Honda make good products.
"I had two Hondas in Germany, before I came out to Tasmania, and rode a similar one to the one I have now to Ireland in 1979 with no problems and there was a lot of water and damp around.
"It's big enough and fast enough to ride anywhere in Tassie and you can take it off-road as well because it's not so heavy.
"It's a handy all-round bike and I'm really happy with it.
"My eldest son likes to ride it when he comes down to visit me."
