Tony Abbott to face vote 2.20pm: Tasmanian Liberal Senator David Bushby said he still supported Mr Abbott. "I believe that Tony Abbott is the best person to lead the nation to recovery from the chaos and economic wreckage left by Labor," he said. "Therefore I continue to support him as Prime Minister." A spokeswoman for Senator Richard Colbeck said he also backed Mr Abbott. Yesterday, Mr Nikolic said he did not think there would be a spill motion and if there was, he would vote against it. Earlier this week, Mr Nikolic emailed his colleagues to knuckle down, and chastised fellow MP Andrew Laming for pushing for a private members' bill to abolish knights and dames. EARLIER: Bass MP Andrew Nikolic has told his West Australian colleague Luke Simpkins that his spill motion against Prime Minister Tony Abbott is "disappointing and divisive". Mr Simpkins sent an email to colleagues today to inform them he would move a spill motion at a party meeting next Tuesday. Fellow West Australian Don Randall has indiciated he will second the notion. In an email sent in response, Mr Nikolic said he would not back the spill motion. "Your actions are disappointing and divisive," the email, seen by The Examiner, says. "In my view you are repeating the ill-disciplined and self-interested behaviours that the Australian people explicitly rejected in 2013. "You do not have my support for this. "I will be arguing strongly against your motion and in support of what I believe is a clear majority of colleagues and constituents who prefer stability and unity of purpose."
