A GEORGE Town pensioner has had Christmas stolen - literally. For the last quarter century Julie Nesbit has been better known for her annual incarnation of Mrs Santa Claus. On Saturday the 63-year-old returned home after her 24th George Town Christmas parade to find her home ransacked. "The first thing I noticed was my wallet on the floor," she said yesterday. Gone was $400, another $400 in gift vouchers and her Christmas cake and two puddings. Somebody had even taken a bite out of her Christmas ham. Mrs Nesbit said there were probably other things around the house stolen that she hadn't noticed yet. The $400 was going to pay for the transport and care of her stroke-affected husband to attend their son's wedding next month. "It's really jolted me, I've lost my Christmas," she said. "I've been sick, I've had the worst headache, thinking what I have done to deserve this. "'People are so cruel." The George Town resident said she'd been saving all year to give her family a good Christmas. The pensioner had a frosty message for those responsible. "Low-lives, save up like everyone else."
