The vessel was engulfed in flames after what is thought to be an electrical fault sent a thick, black smoke cloud over Launceston.
Seaport Marina manager John Purdy said the owner had not visited the boat since he left on Sunday night as he was still dealing with the tragedy.
Having done many repairs to the vessel over the past few months, the owner was sad to see his hard work go up in flames.
Tasmania Police did not comment on the fire yesterday, but they are not treating the incident as suspicious.
