Tim Harris has beaten Heather Barwick by just four votes after a recheck of the voting for the George Town deputy mayor's position.
Both candidates were locked on 1326 votes after preferences were distributed, forcing a recheck of the votes.
The Tasmanian Electoral Commission announced the final results a short time ago.
