GEORGE TOWN: Barwick takes the lead
INCUMBENT Heather Barwick led the race for deputy mayor of the George Town Council following the count of first preference votes last night.

The former mayor and long-time councillor finished on 878 votes at the second count by 8.30pm yesterday.
Newcomers Tim Harris and Peter Parkes trailed on 627 votes and 511 votes respectively.
Stephen Geale was excluded in the second count.
Bridget Archer was elected as mayor unopposed but councillor votes were not displayed by 9.30pm.
The municipality raked in 3086 votes, or 58.92 per cent of enrolments.
