The Tigers go into the fixture having already lost to the Thundersticks just a day earlier.
Western Australia took the Tigers by surprise in a comeback 5-1 victory in Adelaide, after the Tigers had lead the game until half time.
Tigers coach Glenn Freeman said there was an air of disappointment among his side following the defeat, but was confident of a grand final berth prior to Queensland's showdown with Victoria last night.
``Up until three quarter time, we were well and truly in the hunt,'' Freeman said.
``Coming into the last quarter, the WA guys had a lot more of the ball and did a lot more with it.''
Tasmania needed Queensland to win or draw their match with Victoria if they had any hope of reaching the final on percentages.
Queensland eventually drew with Victoria three-all, sending the Tigers into the final against a confident Thudersticks side.
Freeman said his side had remained positive throughout last night's fixtures, despite their earlier defeat.
``We will fight another day and we will stay positive.''
The Tasmanian Tigers and the Western Australian Thundersticks will clash again this afternoon at Adelaide's State Hockey Centre.
