Teens charged over Launceston armed robberies

Two teenagers will face the Youth Justice Court this morning, charged with the armed robbery of two Launceston businesses on Monday night.

Launceston CIB charged a 17-year-old Prospect girl and a 16-year-old Invermay boy with the alleged aggravated armed robbery of the Himalayan Kitchen on Invermay Road and later the Blockbuster Video store at Kings Meadows.

Both were remanded to the Ashley Detention Centre to reappear in court this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Jonathan Higgins said police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in the matter.
