Launceston Scale Model Club members ran a swap meet at the Inveresk Showgrounds as a warm-up to an expo later this year.
Club president Justin Lee said the swap meet attracted about 20 stallholders with all types of scale models - including military and civilian planes, cars and trains.
Mr Lee said the event was the club's second swap meet and it was growing in popularity each time.
But the big event would be the club's Scale Model Expo at Aurora Stadium on Saturday, October 24.
``It is like this but on steroids,'' Mr Lee said when comparing the swap meet to the upcoming expo.
``A lot of people have stuff in their garages, it is just a matter of getting it out and in the public eye.
``There will be big displays of planes, tanks and everything you can think of.''
There will also be full-sized displays, including vintage cars, trucks and possible a tractor.
