Darren Brian Joseph Wise, 35, appeared in the Supreme Court in Launceston this morning.
The court heard two child exploitation videos were found on a computer seized by Launceston detectives after a search of his Youngtown home in September.
Defence counsel Fran McCracken said Wise had been a babysitter in Launceston and the North-West Coast for 15 years.
He also volunteered with children suffering autism and as a mentor.
However Ms McCracken said no charges had ever arisen out of his employment and he was not motivated to enter the sector due to his sexual interest in children, which developed in 2011.
