In a press release issued this afternoon, regulator Glenn Appleyard said that the reduced prices will apply generally to all Tasmanian residential customers and small business customers who are on standing offer prices, that is not on a contract.
Mr Appleyard said that the price decrease is primarily due to a reduction in Aurora Energy’s costs of buying electricity, which is as a result of the energy market’s expectation that the carbon price will be removed from July 1.
