Phillip Bradley Harris, 39, pleaded guilty to driving while over the limit, unreasonable reversing and repeat drink-driving in February this year.
The incident occurred in Humphrey Street, Waverley, as Harris was moving a car out of a driveway and lost control.
Yesterday in the Launceston Magistrates Court, Harris had his driving licence disqualified for three years.
Magistrate Reg Marron said the only reason he was not going to jail was because his last drink-driving offence was in 2005 and nobody was injured.
He sentenced Harris to three months' jail wholly suspended for one year.
