Police allege that the men, aged 25 and 26 both of Burnie, entered the residence on Irish Town Road just after 6pm armed with a kitchen knife and a sword.
They then allegedly restrained the male and female occupant of the house and threatened them before fleeing with a small amount of cash and property.
Both men were later taken into custody and charged with aggravated armed robbery. A quantity of property was allegedly recovered.
They will appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court later this morning.
The residents of the home suffered no lasting physical injuries, police say.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw a gold-orange coloured Ford ute in poor condition with two male occupants in the Smithton area yesterday afternoon.
