Record Store Day is an international celebration of "the people who make up the world of the record store, the staff, the customers, and the artists, to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities".
As part of this year's celebrations, Sydney indie rockers Papa vs Pretty will perform in store at 1pm, with Hobart band the Christopher Coleman Collective following suit about 1.45pm.
There will be limited edition vinyl releases available specifically for the day, with competitions and giveaways in store.
"You have the chains that bring out all the mass produced stuff, while independent stores find and source all the cool stuff, and then those chains come in and sell it half the price," Morrison said.
The day will begin at 8am and go until 4pm.Mojo Music is at 81 Brisbane Street, Launceston.
