Police said the offenders were armed with a handgun and a knife and entered the Hillcrest Newsagency about 7pm on Wednesday.
Wearing stockings over their heads, they demanded money from the staff member; a woman who was working alone at the time.
The shop's cash had already been put away for the night and the men left the store empty handed.
Police say from there it is unsure where the men went - whether they left the scene on foot or by car.
As well as stockings on their heads, police said the men were wearing hooded windcheaters with a large motif on the front - possible a cartoon hand peace sign - with blue track pants and white running shoes.
Both men are described as being of slim build, with one slightly taller.
