On each occasion a counterfeit $100 note was used to buy a small amount of food at the drive-through of KFC and Hungry Jack's outlets.
The notes appear to be of a reasonable quality on one side, but the reverse side is fairly poor and obviously fake.
Police urge cashiers to be on the look-out for any suspicious notes they handle, and report such incidents to police.
Any information in relation to counterfeit notes can be provided to Launceston detectives on 6336 3701 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
