They hope a three-course circus fancy-dress dinner at Kings Meadows Lions Club tomorrow will help them reach their goal.
The couple has already raised $9000 for a special computer that would help Jessica, who has Rett Syndrome, communicate.
The machine costs $23,000.
Mrs Bowden said Jessica could not walk, talk or use her hands, but she could use her eyes, so an eye- gaze controlled computer had the potential to change her life.
"We're hopeful that by the end of the year, we will have raised at least $20,000 to buy the machine," Mrs Bowden said.
"At the moment she has to look at what she wants with her eyes, and she relies on us to interpret for her."
Tomorrow night's dinner runs from $6.30pm, and costs $40 a person. It will include a silent auction, belly-dancing performance and a raffle.
