An Aurora spokesman said the outage occurred shortly before 6am, affecting about 3450 customers.

Power has been returned to all of these properties except seven, which are supplied by the affected pole.

The problem was being rectified and service would be returned to these customers mid-afternoon today, the spokesman said.
