Concert promoter Clint Pease said the event would take on a different form than its previous incarnation, with a stripped-down acoustic entertainment program provided by national headline artists and local support acts, complemented by a lavish food and wine offering.
He said the event would feature prominent interstate and Tasmanian chefs serving up unique dishes and picnic packs.
'We've all moved on, some of us have had kids, so there is going to be a family-friendly environment'
- Clint Pease
Mr Pease said it was less of a standard concert and more of a good day out for families.
``It's not trying to be what the Basin Concert was in the past, but it is appealing to the same people who attended it back then,'' he said.
``We've all moved on, some of us have had kids, so there is going to be a family-friendly environment.''
Mr Pease said New Year's Day was an ideal concert date as there was little on offer for people to do to celebrate the start of the new year.
The one-day event will be ticketed and capped at 2000 people.
Mr Pease said an entertainment program would be announced later in the year.
