My thoughts on issues at this election:
- I would like to see 5000 senior public servants made redundant to help bring the 380 million black hole under control
- I would like to see all boards of Government Business Enterprises abolished and run by a manager who is directly answerable to the minister. This would make the GBE’s accountable to the people
- Electricity generation, transmission and retail should be one entity. Domestic prices should be reflective of actual costs
- The pulp mill fiasco should be settled once and for all with a referendum. A majority of 50% plus 1 will be the winner, the loser to shut up for ever
- Tasmanian businesses must be given first and a final right of reply for all government maintenance/construction contracts put out to tender
- Compulsory learn to drive programs should be started in the last half of Grade 9 and continue in Grade 10. All P plate drivers should be able to drive at 100km/h
- The rail network must be made available to tourist steam trains and to eliminate the chance of fire from coal ash steam trains would be converted to gas. All trains only need to be 1 or 2 carriages long as they would be a boutique and specific experience
- The concept of paying to walk on an Australian beach in a National Park or not is un-Australian, and should be stopped
