A qualified electrical engineer, Mark is now a full-time dad looking after his one-year-old daughter and three teenage stepchildren. He has been married to wife Genevieve for three years and the pair enjoy bushwalking with the family whenever they can.

He uses his engineering skills to assist his local high school each year with their involvement in the Science and Engineering Challenge, which is an international competition designed to inspire students to explore engineering.
Mark is angered by the state of politics in Tasmania today and says the state is desperate for a government that serves the people, rather than just serving themselves.
“We have to fix what I see as corruption within the current government,” Mark said.
“We’ve had generations of career politicians and I’m sick of this government’s inability to get Tasmania moving and so is everyone else I speak to.
“Why can’t we fix the Bass Strait freight issues? Why can’t we get business, education and health moving? It comes down to weak government and weak opposition.”
