When he isn’t studying or spending time with his family he enjoys the arts and the occasional game of golf.
Having previously been a business owner, Luke is passionate about small business and is eager to create an environment that makes it easier for small businesses to grow and create jobs.
“I’m aware of the challenges facing small businesses and the amount of red and green tape they have to deal with day in, day out,” Luke said.
“We must engineer an environment that encourages innovation, motivates small businesses to grow and of course creates jobs. Also, in order to have a skilled workforce we must plan now for Tasmania’s future education needs.”
As an everyday Tasmanian Luke also feels the cost of living pressures that are constantly increasing and he says this must be addressed to ease the burden on Tasmanian families.
“I understand what other Tasmanians are going through because I’m going through it as well,” Luke said.
“Rates, electricity, water bills, grocery bills – everything is going up all the time. It makes life very difficult for regular Tasmanians to make ends meet.
“Like many people I meet I’m sick of this state government driving Tasmania to the brink of disaster. Change is vital to the future of this state and the time for change is now.”
