Support plan for autism

A 10-YEAR strategic plan devised by The Greens to assist Tasmanians with autism would focus on creating "autism friendly schools and workplaces".

The Greens want $100,000 to go towards developing the long-term plan that would also look at developing transition strategies for different stages in education and careers, improve access to support and training, and raise social inclusion and community awareness.

"What we need to do is look at the way we support people with autism in Tasmania, whether it be in schools, whether it be through the Health and Human Services system, whether it be in their employment lives," Greens leader Nick McKim said.
