The Australian Twenty20 skipper, who has been battling a hip-flexor injury, will sit out the match to recover and begin his preparations for next month's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, Cricket Tasmania said this morning.
All-rounder Luke Butterworth will also miss the must-win match due to injury.
The Tigers need outright victories in their final three matches to qualify for the Sheffield Shield final.
Opener Steve Cazzulino or rookie contracted batsman Beau Webster have been included in the squad.

Meanwhile, Cricket Tasmania this morning have also announced paceman Ben Laughlin has been granted an early release from his state contract.
General manager of cricket Andrew Dykes said Laughlin was not in contention for selection in the remaining four Sheffield Shield matches, so the two parties had come to an agreement, with Laughlin returning to his home state of Queensland.
``It is in the best interests of both parties to allow Ben the opportunity of returning to Brisbane and recommencing his trade,'' Dykes said.
``We have decided not to offer Ben a State contract for 2014/15.
``Ben has made an incredible contribution to Tasmanian cricket during his time with the Tigers and we wish to thank him for the time, commitment and effort he has put in.''
Laughlin is also out of contract with the Hobart Hurricanes, with Dykes saying discussions on his future with the T20 franchise would be deferred until the Hurricanes List Management group next meets.
