Mr Hodgman, along with Infrastructure spokesman Rene Hidding, today announced that Infrastructure Tasmania would be an important part of the Liberal's long-term plan for the future of the state.
In a statement, Infrastructure Tasmania is described as being a new, independent body that will ''manage and invest in vital infrastructure including rail, major roads, energy, ports, and water and sewerage''.
The Liberals said that within nine months of its introduction, Infrastructure Tasmania would undertake an audit of the state's roads and maintenance arrangements.
And within 18 months of its existence, it would develop an integrated freight strategy.
